				ZERO

ZERO is a program for zeroing a dectape directory, a user directory
or a user disk pack directory.

The general format of the command is:

		ZERO {<device name>{:}}

If then argument is omitted, a star is printed and the device name
will now be accepted. The colon is optional. If the device is not a dectape,
disk, or user disk pack, you will get an eror message and another star.

DECTAPES:

The system uuo "UTPCLR" is issued which zeroes all file entries in
the dectape directory and sets the last used block as block 1.

DISK:

You are asked if you really want to zero you disk area, if you
answer anything but "Y", the program exits. Otherwise an attempt is made to
delete each file in the current user directory. If the attempt is succesful
a "#" is printed. If not, the filename, extension and reason for failure
are printed. If all files were successfully deleted and you now log out,
LOGOUT will delete the UFD for this area.

USER DISK PACK:

You are asked for the write access password for this UDP. If you
don't know it, you won't get any farther. Then you are asked if you want
to initialize the COPY type directory. This is in general done only once
to any UDP, an usually by an expert. It intializes the first 2 block of
the UDP so that COPY may simulate a file structure there. Now you are
asked if you want to change the UDP write password. If you answer "Y" you
are asked for the new password which is then written on the disk by the
system. That's all.
